A Batek woman walks in the forest of Taman Negara National Park in search of useful materials. The Batek are hunter-gatherers whose knowledge of the forest landscape is based on familiarity with a complex network of trails and topographic features. This knowledge is transmitted through long practice in walking, gathering, and moving from one place to another.
