In one day, all these cacao pods have to be opened, both to protect the crop from thieves and to permit the seeds to dry. This is why a cacao field owner sought help from many people from his village and nearby villages, whether they are from his ethnic group or not. Children also help, but mostly in the preparation of cacao juice. When the work is over, the owner will provide everyone with a meal.
