Despite access to modern medicine, some maladies remain in the domain of traditional healers. This itinerant shaman cares for a three-year-old child who is still not able to walk. His offerings are a bowl of sticky rice, cups of rice wine, incense sticks and ceremonial money. Trance, prayers to the ancestors of the parents, and incantations to guardian spirits follow. Then, the shaman will make the child drink a decoction of medicinal plants
