‘Every sign of life has been destroyed’ in Gaza City

Every metre we walked through, we could see signs of life that once were here: The chalkboards of schools that have been destroyed and thrown outside the facilities, bicycles hanging from windows, curtains … Every sign of life here has been destroyed completely.

People are returning. Some of them are searching through the debris and under the rubble for whatever they are able to salvage.
