“A local parallel to what Trump has just done would have been Australia using our military to attack Honiara in the Solomon Islands, abduct its then-leader Mr Sogavare and jail him on criminal charges in Australia. We could have used the fact drugs transit the South Pacific to get to Australia as the justification.
