Palestinians grieve sick loved ones as Rafah crossing opens too late

Ibtisam Abu Ameera was just three years old when she died waiting for the Rafah crossing to be opened after hospitals were unable to diagnose her condition following repeated attacks on the enclave’s health system.

“I waited for the crossing to open, but my daughter died before this day came. There is no justification for denying any patient medical treatment. My daughter died when she was only three years old."
