Unbearable: Gaza residents describe water, sanitation crisis despite ‘ceasefire’

“It takes us three to four hours to fill two or three gallons of water, meaning 100 liters [26 gallons]. The water shortage is unbearable. We hope that charities or companies will provide water trucks near our tents,” said Mohammad Abu Rabie, displaced Palestinian from Rafah

“I wake up at five in the morning and stand in line for water to provide water for my children. The drinking water supply is from six to eight in the morning, and then the trucks leave,” said Tamara al-Masry, displaced Palestinian from Beit Hanoun.

“After that, we go to the brackish water source to get water to wash our children’s clothes. Then we go to the charity kitchen. I wait here from 11 am until sunset so I can provide food for my children.”
