The money people don't get it.

The joy is not simply in a "product". The joy is getting a glimpse of the humans who made it.

The coolest fucking thing about the good ol' days of the Internet that I remember is how much of it was just people showing other people some silly little thing they liked to do.

"Lord of the Peeps" comes to mind. Someone was posting photos of scenes from Peter Jackson's Fellowship of the Ring with Peeps as the characters. What a pointless project. How delightful!

The Internet was this brand new way of communicating with people great distances away, whom you've never met, & so many people just had the time of their lives seeing all the little creative things other random people out there in the world were doing.

We're sort of numb to it now, but there was a real joy to being able to see someone's secret useless talent or cute little project. Let's try & find some of that energy again. Let's find the joy of human creativity.
