My brother says there's nothing to be done; we're all livestock for the wealthy & powerful, & we just may as well accept it.

And I say that's a terribly out of touch way of thinking that comes from not acknowledging that communities of resistance already exist, that just because you're used to seeing the people around you—white, "successful", "normal"—submit without question does not mean that is how "people" as a whole will always live or behave.

Ok, look somewhere else, then.

Could it be that the people who surround you are not representative of the whole of humanity?

Could it be that they are conditioned a certain way? Could it be that other things already exist somewhere outside your current awareness?

Why assume that what you know is all there is?
