Today in being annoyed at how Metcalfe's Law makes it hard for new social things to succeed: the ongoing story
I'm now thinking about this in terms of how Linux adoption can be thought of in terms of Metcalfe's Law, in that there's two factors,
one is "are there people there already"
two is "do I think those people will help me"
The more people are somewhere, the more likely you are to find people who will help you
but the fewer people, the less likely there'll be someone helpful
