But beyond that, the study about parrots lacking company of their kind learning to use video calling for socializing across the internet at their own discretion is rather neat.

Birds in particular by average tend to have a higher critical flicker fusion rate than humans do and I wonder how much has to do with newer displays having higher refresh rates. It seems like that can certainly make for a more compellingly lifelike appearance.
