Trump's reckless crimes against peace has resulted in the world trade essential Strait of Hormuz being closed, so now the charlatan threatens USA's imperialist projection bloc NATO that it must participate in the war of aggression, which any that accept will have them prosecutable at the Hague (ICJ/ICC), and is not at all how the North Atlantic Treaty's Article 5 works, so is instead tRump's main modus operandi, extortion.
Furthermore, Trump's statement that '"I’m demanding that these countries come in and protect their own territory because it is their territory," Trump told reporters aboard Air ​Force One on the way from Florida to Washington. "It’s the place from which they get their energy."' is absolute nonsense, gobbledegook. The claim to existence that States make is an exclusive violence monopoly in a declared geographic area, which is what they call their territory or in this case territorial waters, and this means such territory can not overlap. It is an actual geometric impossibility, as in trying to place ≥195 polyhedrons over the same spot but without any overlapping, impossible.
So there is UNCLOS/ITLOS, but USA, Israel and Iran have decided to stay out, apparently to enable this world-endangering scenario.
