With agentic programming tooling (e.g. #ClaudeCode) #Emacs package maintainers have one less excuse not to adopt Buttercup https://github.com/jorgenschaefer/emacs-buttercup for their test suites. Claude can convert ERT to Buttercup pretty well in almost no time. (and works surprisingly well with Elisp in general)

I'm a big fan of Buttercup and I'd pick it over ERT any day of the week.
