@cksChris Siebenmann I agree but we have to remember even more companies have realized they can save a lot of money by both not self funding through contribution or buying from a vendor. They just demand the project help them via guilt and emails.
My hot take is that maintainers should be quicker to reply to emails like this with, “you seem to have mistaken me as your vendor. I’m not.” and then get back to doing what they love.
