@ascentalePhil (ascentale) @bikenite#BikeNite Cycle Chat We saw some great yard signs last Sunday at the home of Ken and Anna Thomsen in Monterey. They are the parents of our friend Laurel Thomsen, who has donated some songs for Bicycling Monterey videos, including “It’s a New Day.” :)

A yard sign spotted 8 Feb 2026 in the yard of the parents of our friend Laurel (laurelthomsen.com). The sign is blue, with white lettering, “VOTE like the Earth depends on it.” The sign also includes an image of the planet, in blue and green, and an image of a hand holding a white paper with a blue and green checkmark—representing a voter’s ballot, someone who is voting to benefit the earth. Green plants are growing around the sign, including oxalis, holly (with a red berry), and other living plants.
