hey fedi, i kinda fell off in the latest software meta so i need your answers:
i have a spare vps (2gb ram, 50gb storage) and if i were to host a fediverse instance, what software should i go with?

i'm a big fan of emoji reactions and a somewhat accessible admin menu (as in i don't have to dig layers deep to get to the blocking menu for example)

i don't expect to host anything else on the machine or have more than like 5 active users at most.

customization would be nice to have (themes or something) as well. and preferably the frontend to be usable on mobile and desktop.

i've had mastodon, *oma and many *key instances but for some reason i couldn't vibe with any of these 100%, always for different reasons and they all had their share of annoying things that made hosting dogshit

alternatively as a last resort i can accept like an invitation to a non-mastodon server for test drive or something, although i'd really want to put the vps to use at some point
