FUN FACT: Vogue Latinoamérica was produced in and it was the one magazine that became the Farah Diba of Vogue outside of Vogue Arabia.

Farah Diba was literally one of 2 WoC Vogue-Venezuela would allow. Bianca Jagger was the other one. not even Grace Jones.

all am saying: BEWARE THE WHITE GAZE.

the petromafia backed Pahlavis will exploit it to coopt the iranian insurgency.

Vogue pic of the Shah, baby Shah and Farah Diba, standing by his gold & jewel encrusted throne, and looking like European monarchs on steroids.Farah Diba on a cover of a fashion magazine being compared to Jackie Kennedy. i don’t believe they are actually standing together. typical of gossip rags to compose people into the same cover ―remember, this was all hand made with photos before the 1980s.1970s Vogue Arabia photo of Farah Diba with her brood. her oldest son is at her right. he’s the Pahlavi that’s been trying to restore the dictatorship his dad had.Farah Diba in a glamour shot, dressed in a floor-length wool cardigan and gown, exquisitely embroidered with Iranian motifs.

when i was a kid, she was the most famous of a literal handful of women of color who got to be on fashion magazines. in Vogue Latinoamérica ―which was published in Venezuela―, it was her and Bianca Jagger.

seriously, just the two.

when i tell you, Iran and Venezuela are tethered, wether they like it or not, by the petromafia, believe me.

something as inocuous as 1970s Latin American fashion magazines are the tell.

LAST THING
y’all know am a former Latin American Studies professor. that’s a shorthand for the even more obscure, am an expert in baroque and neobaroque aesthetics.

i spent almost 10 years of my life studying how people created art under the most repressive eras in Spain, and what is now called Latinoamérica. i was literally paid to read pictures.

A picture of a person in Hijab who holds a surveillance camera in her right hand letting the camera point at them. But the camera is disconnected and fully in the person hands, blinding whoever might try to surveill. The person is in the near a street crossing and there are people everywhere on the street, in a protest/uprising it appears. The picture was, as far as we could verify, taken in Abadnan on January 7th. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdana
