well my server has been down for a fair few hours while i logged in over remote console to the migrated version (running on new hardware), and tried to to get networking going. it seems impossible.

new version of kvm (or whatever the host is) so linux-centric now, you have to connect via "onlink" which is some ridiculous "you are not on the same network but connect anyway" hSDGASJDGFGAARRGGOHH

real operating systems do not connect to networks that they are not connected to lol

anyway its rolled back for now. maybe i will migrate the whole vm to openbsd.amsterdam
