When I was a kid, we got a yearly notice on how we would be evacuated if/when the nearby nuclear power plant oopsed. 6 years ago I was relieved to hear that the nuclear plant was shutting down; then a storm triggered an automatic emergency shut down, starting decommissioning early.

Now they are working to make it the first decommissioned nuclear power plant in the country to ever be restarted. Not because the residents need it. Instead, it is to power a Google data center.
