The Asylum Lab at the University of Toronto Scarborough has created a resource guide for LGBTQIA+ individuals interested in seeking asylum in Canada. It includes links & a nice summary of other possible ways to enter Canada as well.

It shows several possible starting points such as economic, including work or student via study permit; asylum-seeking, and sponshorship (reuniting with family, as a spouse/partner, as a parent/grandparent, or as a dependent child by your parents). Work is divided into Express Entry for specific jobs only, International Experience Canada for ages 18-35, work permit, Provincial Nominee Program, and International Mobility Program. A note says that other pathways may exist and to consult IRCC's website.
