The vastness of #Canada is utterly amazing. Looking at maps it's just wilderness upon wilderness, scarcely a single house anywhere except for the southern US-border.
I wonder if they have any decent universities there that aren't near the big cities, but further up north, closer to the vast natural landscapes
The universities are all in cities, unfortunately. You need the infrastructure of a city to support the school.
It is pretty vast. Between Hudson Bay and the Rocky Mountains, once you get north of the plains there are large regions where if you were parachuted in randomly, you would almost certainly be closer to a bear or moose than to another human.
How the moose parachuted in is unknown.
