alan perlis is quoted as saying "don't have good ideas if you aren't willing to be responsible for them." i don't really agree with this quote; i think it's fine to release an idea into the world and let others decide whether it's worth investing in and stewarding... but the stewards deserve credit for this complementary, often harder work
