I would be more enthused about Marginalia Search if their crawler had not twice hit my techblog for 9,000 requests in two hours or so. I let the first one pass, I blocked them after the second. Their crawler's user-agent is also just "search.marginalia.nu" which is excessively minimal to say the least. We need search engines like them, but we also need said engines to be run competently, or ideally, run well.
