It looks like because the PDF standard is adopting JPEG XL to support HDR images, the Chromium maintainers changed course and now *are* going to implement JPEG XL in the browser, and they're going to do it by integrating jxl-rs 🎉 https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40168998
