@ianthetechieIan Wagner I picked up somewhere the idea of "language for the rest of your life", and it made me think: approaching 40 and with a kid in tow, I don't see myself chasing trends, and this struck a weird chord. That maybe I should think about this more, because it's an important question.

General-purpose: that sounds reasonable, right? So that you can build whatever else from it 'if needed'. But maybe that is a poor criterion
