A few months ago, we adopted a 1 year old stray cat from a friend's neighborhood. Poor Sersi was living under an abandoned house that was scheduled to be demolished. My wife and I agreed to take her in.

Today, were informed by the vet that she likely has a tumor on her pituitary gland that has been causing her blood sugar to spike. She lost all of the weight she had put on since we got her and the vet is maintaining without making any progress. The nearest animal hospital that could treat her may not even take her, as her health is so poor.

We made the hard choice to have her put down later this afternoon. We will be there with her when it happens. I hate it, but it's the humane choice.
