I'm really excited to see that @signalappSignal is doing beta testing for a cloud backup solution!

For years (link to blog at end) I've been saying that local only backups are pretty worthless, and if you set up some kind of automated cloud sync yourself you end up shuttling GBs of data on the regular, even when the unencrypted diff would be tiny.

This is a game changer - when this works I will be able to recommend Signal **to my mum**.
