One thing that's been pretty interesting about my HS quest so far is just how regulated it is. Can't do it at all without a license. Need the MAT to get that. But to get into MAT program there was an extensive review of college transcripts *and* I had to pass a 3.5 hour state math content exam.
This is in contrast to college teaching where it's literally been "anything goes" for the most part. I mean there's some vetting in an interview, but it's not as structured as this.
