Setting aside the fact that this is moronic fiction – would it be a GOOD thing to destroy the entire white collar office job? Would that be GOOD for the economy? Would that lead to prosperity?
They are yearning for a world where they have destroyed everything, and shrug it off as if there is nothing they could do to stop it.
If I was building a thing which I thought would destroy the economy, I would simply NOT.
