I've been thinking about @pixelfed and that blog post about Pixelfed "sawing off the branch the fediverse is sitting on"

Pixelfed does ingest and supports text-only posts, you can search a Mastodon post and interact with it on Pixelfed.

When it comes to text-only posts appearing in home feeds, I believe we can do better and make an optional "text feed" that better separates them into their own proper place.

The same goes for boosts, with a separate feed for them, the main feed remains pure
