Did you ever have the – uh – "pleasure" of working with CUPL? A current extension of a project required the addition of some reconfigurable combinatorial logic glue circuitry (slow, basically just some human operated switches) without introducing any oscillators/clock signals whatsoever (so that could avoid going through RF EMI testing); so no FPGAs because SPI config.
