Seem to have accidentally bought this and it's arriving tomorrow. Not sure whether to dive in, add it to the list or throw it on the fire.

It seems like something I'd have read 44 years ago when I was studying Buddhism (amongst other things less high-minded - all my friends were thieves and addicts) instead of book lernin'. Might be bollocks, might remind of stuff I need to remember. It's either the first or last option, I guess.

Philosophical outlook

The book draws from a variety of spiritual traditions,[2] and one reviewer described it as "Buddhism mixed with mysticism and a few references to Jesus Christ, a sort of New Age re-working of Zen."[3] It uses these traditions to describe a "belief system based on living in the present moment".[4] Its core message is that people's emotional problems are rooted in their identification with their minds.[5] The author writes that an individual should be aware of their present moment instead of losing themselves in worry and anxiety about the past or future.[6]

According to the book, only the present moment is real and only the present moment matters,[5][2] and both an individual's past and future are created by their thoughts.[3]
