With my back acting up since the first of the year, there is a *big* list of stuff I just haven’t gotten to. But this morning, I finished one that’s been lurking on the list since last September. I got out the needle and thread and tacked the pretty hat-band onto my new “summer hat” so it (and the stampedes) will stay on the hat when I’m not wearing it.

I still need to decide if I want to crease the crown or not. I think no crease is better for keeping my noggin cool, though.

A white western hat made from light-colored palm leaves sits on a countertop. A beaded hat-band with a white background and multi-colored diamonds is on the hat, with a black leather stampede riding below the hat band. A careful viewer may spot a small tail of white string slightly to the right of center, laying across the black stampede, and holding the hat-band in place.
