  1. What power have you got?

  2. Where did you get it from?

  3. In whose interests do you use it?

  4. To whom are you accountable?

  5. How do we get rid of you?

That last one is most important, as it reveals whether you live in a democracy or not.

I've always thought he was a great thinker, he was the first I came across that told the big story of civilization, that all power is founded on the theft of land and property, and the enslavement of the people. Power shouldn't exist as a divine right or by force, it should only be granted peacefully and by consent.
