been thinking about "simple" software a lot lately: why can't you just use jquery? or web components? or just write something native?

i don't come to the same conclusions, but i am coming from a similar premise.

a flow chart starting at low-level (cpu, os, etc.) and branching up to browser, toolkits, html, react, vue, jquery, etc. at each level, some examples are given ("old reddit" for jquery, "figma" for canvas, "gtk/adwaita" for native toolkits)
