I couldn't quite put my finger on a difference in feeling playing Breath of the Wild vs. Tears of the Kingdom. Then I noticed it: the developers changed the season and shifted the shadows.

Here are two screenshots from the exact same position on the map at almost the same time of day, facing the same direction.
