SCP-001: Quantum off-by-one error
Class: Keter
Containment procedures: All programmers associated with the code should receive amnestics; Codebase is to be purged, and a cover-up action should take place. Common cover-up stories include a spontaneous hardware failure and data corruption.
Description: Manifests in computer programs. If observed, the piece of code looks syntactically and logically correct. At runtime, an off-by-one error occurs in the code. Reverse-engineering analysis has excluded compiler and hardware bugs.
Correcting the bug by adding or subtracting 1 from the final index does not fix the bug, but reverses the direction of the off-by-one.
It is currently unknown how SCP-001 spreads. No further testing with SCP-001 is permitted at this time.
