Many years ago one of my school teachers was one of the first phone phreakers in Britain but unfortunately was caught. On the other hand, it sounds like the judge in the case was impressed. Anyway, I finally got around to looking up a news article.

"Men of your distinction really ought never to find yourselves in the dock at the Central Criminal Court"

(Also, this provides evidence that rumours kids hear about teachers can actually be true!)
