Sad to see Armadillo Willy’s, a local BBQ joint, close all but one of their stores.

But also infuriating to read that its current president blamed taxes for his cash flow woes: “The state came in and took my money that I was working with. I owed them money for sales tax.” Bro, if you’re not accounting for sales tax, which has remained basically flat for years, that’s *your* problem. Taxes isn’t the state “taking your money”; it’s the cost of doing business. I’m sure Armadillo Willy’s is enjoying the roads and public services that are paid for by other people’s tax dollars.

Also last time I checked, *customers* paid for sales tax. Businesses only collected them.
