One of the biggest reasons why I left Spotify (this was after they gave Joe Rogan a truckload of money, and tried to embrace/extinguish podcasts, but before they played ICE ads and before I discovered their CEO invests in killer drones) was because they were padding their LoFi playlists with garbage AI slop attributed to fictitious artists, bands, and labels. They were obviously doing this to avoid paying out any money to artists despite continual playback.

wait do people not realize spotify is specifically INTERESTED in padding playlists with ai generated music? it's perfect for their business model, and spotify exists to bring money rather than be a public service or whatever (📎1)
