I fell in love w/ Xiaomi 14 Ultra's cameras and photo processing, and watched many videos of photographers doing amazing street photography with it. But I can't deal with the possible (likely?) privacy invasion of a full-on Chinese phone.

So #NothingPhone it is. It's reputed to be a good fit for Pixel refugees. They're based in London. It's a bit arbitrary but I find it comforting (non-US, non-China). I ordered a 3a for my wife. I personally might wait for the Phone 3.

@teleclimberOlivier Forget If I didn't need a new phone straight away like I do now, I would also want to wait for the flagship model 3. I totally concur with all your points about privacy concerns with full-on Chinese phones and Nothing's AI is not so in your face.

I recommend my favourite firewall app https://netguard.me/ to manage connections from all user and system apps. Hope you and your wife enjoys the Nothing experience. I hope it works for me too haha. Still setting it up...
