Microsoft's brand was never much loved, pre AI Nadella leadership kinda redeemed it at the eyes of many but I was never convinced about that (in fact I preferred Microsoft under Ballmer since despite all they issues they had at least they were still focused on software and hardware "products" not on "services").
On the other hand Mozilla was a beloved brand by computer geeks and privacy minded people.
