I accidentally looked at architecture specific details on atomic ops and now I know that while cmpxchg16b is guaranteed on RAM, it can (theoretically) fail half-executed on NVDIMMs if there's a power failure…

Can I un-learn this somehow? I'm not that young anymore and need the brain space 🙃
