The new Mikrotik RDS2216 https://mikrotik.com/product/rds2216 is still breaking my brain. Equipped with 100GbE it's clearly aimed at the enterprise, but I can't help thinking that it's perfect for the mid-market and represents a staggering value prop compared to the existing SSD NAS boxes. A Synology FS2500 with 12 SATA SSD slots goes for ~$3500 vs the RDS2216 full NVMe for ~$2000. π³
Thinking an βentry level" version replacing the 100GbE ports with more 10/25GbE ports would be a very interesting variantβ¦
Side note: 7mm U.2 drives are getting hard to find.
