If you are a resident of California, the state now has a portal where you can demand deletion of your personal data from 500+ registered data brokers with a single request form, for free.
If you have a fediverse account, you can quote this note from your own instance. Search https://hachyderm.io/users/evacide/statuses/115823137786391729 on your instance and quote it. (Note that quoting is not supported in Mastodon.)

If we somehow managed to mix European GDPR rules with such simple request for removal form, it would not be bad. On the other hand, I still have not even deleted my Xitter account - I left it as placeholder about leaving for Mastodon :-)
Still, it is inevitable, that if we try to protect our personal data, it will result in some form of payment for our protected online presence. It all breaks down to approximately 3 schemes: online presence as paid service with varying quality and price, online presence as membership in kinda democratically organized community, with risks of being excluded and voted over - or online presence as membership in a cult with leader.
