Genocide

Today is . It commemorates the arrest and expulsion of Armenian intellectuals and leaders from Istanbul in 1915, the first steps in the process that killed over 1.5 million Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.

Like so many others, this genocide has been denied, downplayed and ignored by parties who do not want to face its consequences. Acknowledging and bearing witness to atrocities is the least we owe to the people who were lost.
