I think it's interesting that "Fediverse" has "diverse" in it, and I think it's worth emphasizing.

I think we have all gotten lax in explaining "federated universe"; most people I see discussing it don't even go on from there. What does "federated" mean? What does the "universe" mean in this context? Are we committed to a universal network?

One thing this discussion has brought up though is how important the history of the Fediverse is to our culture. So, it might not be a good idea to muddle with it.
