Apple signs multi-year deal to use Google Gemini
Apple and Google announced a multi-year collaboration in which the next generation of Apple Foundation Models will be based on Google’s Gemini models and cloud technology, aimed at powering future Apple Intelligence features. The companies said this will enable a more personalized Siri planned for release later in 2026, after Apple previously delayed its AI-focused Siri upgrade. Apple said it chose Google’s AI after evaluating options and will keep Apple Intelligence running on-device and via Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, emphasizing that its privacy standards will remain in place.
