so `podman` (build, run) defaults to being incredibly slow unless you have `fuse-overlayfs` in PATH.

when you _do_ install `fuse-overlayfs`, you also have to remove some files it created in ~/ to get it to switch storage backends 🙃

imho the vfs backend should spam "THIS IS SLOW HUH" every second unless you pass `--yes-i-like-to-suffer`
