At some point I got so pissed that DNS was broken inside a container that I used the hickory-dns client implementation and hard-coded 8.8.8.8 to do a freaking A lookup myself and... today that conf points to an IPv4 address, not a domain name, and of course you can't do an A lookup for 127.0.0.1 🙃
